Tis the season! For those of you looking to buy some training tools for the baseball-obsessed player in your house here are 5 suggestions from our team this Christmas. No development program is truly complete without these training and feedback tools.
A staple in the Driveline weighted ball training programs, no baseball player should go without having a set of these in their bag. Improve your arm health and ability to recover properly after those high intensity throwing programs.
Oates Specialty Shoulder Tube
Another staple to the proper warm-up and recovery protocol for a high intent weighted ball throwing program! This piece is a little bit harder to transport but should be part of every throwing athletes tool box!
Diamond Kinetics Swingtracker
You cant have a true Velo Lab without tech feedback. The constraint led approach and weighted bat training requires test and retest principles. Don't leave your development to chance by guessing at improvement! Measure and track progress with this tool!
Swing Speed Radar
Add the immediate feedback of intent to your overload constraint drills! This tool as been our most impactful tool we have added to the lab recently pushing players past their perceived limitations!
I find traditional tee work boring and largely useless in developing a dynamic intent driven swing. We kept finding our athletes sacrificing intent to just "make contact" in our overload constraint drills in fear of knocking over the traditional tee in embarrassment in front of their peers. So we eliminated that with the Backspin tee.
Shamelessly I would also love it if you joined the Velo Lab Online also! For just $99 for one year you will get access to all the current up to date training programs we are using these tools with every day!
